Planar lightwave circuit (PLC) splitter is fabricated using silica optical waveguide technology. Fiber optic splitter and coupler are used to split or combine optical signals in various kinds of networks, it features wide operating wavelength range, good channel-to-channel uniformity, high reliability and small size, and is widely used in PON networks to realize optical signal power management.
